At Blue Skies Riding Academy we believe that everyone should have the opportunity to learn to ride in a safe, fun, family-friendly atmosphere. We believe in teaching solid basic skills, ensuring that riders are always fully prepared for the next step. Riders learn gaits, position, control of the horse, finesse, and jumping as they progress. Students are invited to participate in our volunteer program, local horse shows, clinics, schooling shows, trail rides, and many other fun activities as they progress.
Blue Skies lesson horses are dependable, well schooled, and fun! Horses range from the kindest babysitters for first-time riders up to those who can jump 3' courses. We also have up and coming rescue horses for our advanced riders to work with as well. Students also have the option of leasing a lesson horse in barn so they can come out more often during the week to ride outside of lessons.
Group and Private Lessons:
Private lessons a 30 minutes in length. Group lessons are one hour in length and are limited to four students. Students are grouped with riders of similar abilities and may also be grouped by age. Lessons are paid at the beginning of each month.
One time lessons:
1 Hour Private - $65
1/2 Hour Private - $50
-For the safety of rider and horse, there is a 200 pound weight limit for individuals wishing to ride.-
New Program Changes
Dear Parents, Riders, And Friends,
We are changing our lesson policies beginning October 1st 2013. The new lesson packages are created to encourage families to become more involved to our programs and committed to the horses.
Students will now be able to participate in lessons, sponsor a horse, participate in barn social activities (e.g. family cook out days) and be able to receive discounts on special BSRA events. Parents will also be invited to meet with our BSRA Board; to provide input, ask questions and offer ways they too can
assist our horse rescue efforts.
We are very excited to bring you this new program; our goal is to encourage community within the academy. We are all about growing our students into responsible, caring, and passionate young adults.
Whether a student wants to horse show competitively, lease a horse, volunteer, learn about horse care, or have fun learning to ride, we are here to meet those needs.
